- Wild
Mesopithecus amicufur is an omnivorous monkey species, primarily inhabiting the Island's jungles. It is smaller than a human, but can scurry nearly the same speed. It does not appear to be aggressive unlike its relative the Gigantopithecus, just is rather very shy towards humans likely due to their much larger size and lack of hairy exterior. Due to their skittish nature they can be difficult to tame. They can be hand-fed if you are patient, merely stick too shut to them for too long and they'll get spooked and run away.
- Domesticated
A common pet, Mesopithecus is very piece of cake to go along fed. Information technology will eat nearly any fruit harvested on the island. Mesopithecus is near frequently used as a social companion, as it cannot carry plenty to be a animal of burden, is not big enough to be ridden and is non particularly good for gainsay. It is, however, quite effective at vocally alarm of incoming intruders and rain them with copious amounts of tossed fecal thing. Nomadic tribes accept also managed to teach Mesopithecus to open locked doors when pillaging.
„
Behavior [ ]
The Mesopithecus is able to travel perched on your shoulder, and able to screech to warn of incoming danger, merely like the dossier epitome implies. When fighting, it throws feces at its enemy. These feces appear to apply a slow and damage over time event to other animals. Mesopithecus volition notwithstanding throw feces at animals even if information technology is perched on your shoulder, especially if set to 'attack your target.' It is also possible to accept them throw carrion at an enemy from your shoulder while you lot are riding some other mountain.
Wild Mesopithecus tin unremarkably be found wandering the forests, beaches, and plains of the island. Their pocket-sized size and distinctive call makes them easier to hear than see.
Appearance [ ]
The Mesopithecus looks somewhat like to the modern Squirrel Monkey, merely with a more than ape-like confront. They are very minor and walk on all fours and come in varying shades of beige and brown, which can make them hard to spot. Usually players find them through their singled-out noises, which sound similar to that of a stereotypical monkey.
Colour Scheme and Regions [ ]
This section displays the Mesopithecus's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Mesopithecus. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Mesopithecus will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

Wild Stats Level-up
Type in values of a wild beast to come across on which stats it'due south emphasized. Green values on a loftier-level creature are very good for convenance. If you lot have already tamed your fauna you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]
Mesopithecus
The stat-calculator does non work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps
Notation that later the beast is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it difficult to retrieve the levels on a tamed beast, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a showtime impression, how well the stats are distributed.
Taming [ ]
Mesopithecus is tamed non-violently, rather than through the usual methods. Put the food you wish to feed it with in the far-correct slot of your hotbar. Then, approach Mesopithecus and press the use key (default:E) to feed it when the push prompt appears. Do not become any closer than necessary for the prompt to announced, or Mesopithecus will get scared and run away. (Information technology helps to hunker, and to a lesser extent wear a Ghillie Adjust.) If it runs, try to keep it in sight - they can get adequately far away and their pocket-sized size makes them like shooting fish in a barrel to lose—only avoid chasing after it or it volition continue to run. If your soon to exist new best friend becomes spooked, it is recommended to become on a flying mount and take off. The monkey volition no longer become startled by you (every bit once it has become spooked it volition continue to be if the survivor is within a rather large range of said monkey). Be mindful of its health bar whilst taming, every time the Mesopithecus becomes startled it volition lose a minor fraction of its health, scare it also many times and it volition die. Also be aware of whatsoever water near by, equally Mesopithecus tend to drown if they run into the water. On PS4 (non confirmed on other platforms), if your mesopithecus runs into the water most of the time you can literally punch the monkey in the direction of the shore. Nigh of the time the mesopithecus will come up out of the water calm and prepare to be tamed.
Crouching and following the monkey volition making taming much easier. With berries one must try to follow the Mesopithecus as far away as possible while withal seeing the "wait till information technology is hungry again text" every bit Mesopithecus volition starve to death/lose taming effectiveness very apace with Mejoberries. It is HIGHLY recommended to apply kibble.
An Argentavis or a Pteranodon can be used to pick it upwards and put it in a box, only this tin sometimes cause the Mesopithecus to become permanently startled and therefore untameable. Rendering information technology unconscious resets this. Sometimes a taming box is not needed, just a loftier cliff area. When the mesopithecus is dropped from a high distance it will state and become calm.
If also much time is spent between feedings then the taming bar volition decrease slowly, and so Kibble is more effective and allows you to make up for progress lost while defending against predators or trying to detect the animal after it has run away.
Note that the values are for optimal cases, always bring extra supplies!
For a level-dependent count of resources needed, try an external taming calculator.
Ingredients for Basic Kibble: 10 × Amarberry, one × Cooked Meat, Cooked Fish Meat, or Cooked Meat Hasty, 1 × Extra Small Egg, five × Fiber, 5 × Mejoberry, x × Tintoberry, 1 × Water
